5 NFL players Who Are Known Gamblers

Professional sports stars can be more prone to gambling due to the vast amount of money they have at their disposal. Whilst NFL stars get paid huge sums of money. Other gamblers from the realms of professional sport include superstars like basketball legend Michael Jordan and boxing hall of Famer Floyd Joy Mayweather.

It is heavily frowned upon for professional sports players to gamble on the outcome of games or matches they are involved in. Many governing bodies completely ban any gambling due to a serious conflict of interest and the possibility of foul play. However, many of these stars, especially NFL stars, enjoy playing other gambling games, such as blackjack or poker.

LaMont Jordan

The former Jets, Raiders, Broncos and Patriots running back has been quoted as saying gambling is one of his favorite hobbies. He has had a checkered past with gambling and has reportedly been dragged into debt disputes since his retirement and allegedly banned from many Las Vegas casinos.

Gambling can be a fun hobby to socialize with friends and unwind. However, if you find yourself getting into debt and chasing losses, this is a sign that you shouldn’t gamble. If you are not careful, you will end up in serious financial trouble, and many problem gamblers can attest to losing.

Tom Brady

Patriots legend Tom Brady is renowned as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of American Football. You may not know that he is also partial to a blackjack game. Having been pictured in casinos throughout his career, he is one of many NFL stars who like to relax by taking part in a casino game or two with some close family and friends.

He hasn’t just been spotted in casinos near his home town either. He has been spotted all over the States in casinos ranging from Rhode Island to Louisiana.

Peyton Manning

Sticking to the theme of NFL legends, Manning is another quarterback who enters the frame when the discussion begins about the greatest players of all time. The muti-Superbowl winner is a fan of casino games, specifically poker.

Widely considered one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history, Sherman’s huge personality on and off the pitch spills into his betting strategy, with huge wagers placed on an array of sports games throughout the last couple of decades.

Michael Vick

This is a quarterback-themed article we have put together for you today. Vick is known as a precociously gifted player but is arguably more famous for all the wrong reasons, having spent time in prison due to his major role in an illegal dog fighting ring. He has stated that he regrets his actions and decisions and has made restitution to try and apologize for his past behavior.

Vick is now considered a reformed character, amplified by his 2010 Comeback Player of the Year award and Pro Bowl selection. He has been known to gamble on various games himself, with several bets being placed on the outcome of a mixture of different sports.
