PledgeSports among nominees for Sport Industry Awards
IT’S awards season and we’re delighted to announce that, hot on the heels of our World Summit Award, PledgeSports.org is among the nominees for the Irish Sport Industry Awards.
These awards have been set up this year by the Federation of Irish Sport to recognise excellence in the thriving Irish Sport Industry.
The 12 award categories include Emerging Sports Business, Best Sports Facility, Best Sports Club, Excellence in Media Coverage, Established Sports Business and Best Innovation In Sport.
PledgeSports.org features among three nominees for Best Innovation In Sport, having helped fund Irish sports stars like triathlete Kevin Thornton, para-equestrian Emma Cahill, tennis star James Cluskey and Olympic cyclists Katie George-Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal.
Highlighting the reasons for the creation of the awards, Dublin footballer, Bernard Brogan, the Irish Sport Industry Awards Ambassador, said: “As President of the Federation of Irish Sport, I am delighted to be associated with and serve as a brand ambassador for the inaugural sports industry awards.
“The Irish Sports Industry is crying out for an award scheme that recognizes the contribution sport makes to the economic life of Ireland. Too often sport is seen as simply a hobby or past time. The reality is that it is much much more.”
The winners will be decided by a comprehensive panel from the worlds of sport, sports media and sports business and they will presented at a special awards ceremony in Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre on Wednesday, November 5.
