Athlete of the Week: Sofia Segui Edmundson

PledgeSports have the pleasure of working with some phenomenal athletes and teams. Each week we will choose one of them as the PledgeSports “Athlete of the Week” award.

This week we are picking a junior! Our winner is 9 year-old rising star of the tennis world, Sofia Segui Edmundson.

A dual citizen hailing from Mallorca in Spain, Sofia first took up the sport at the age of four and has been progressing rapidly ever since.

Sofia, nicknamed “Tiger”, has one dream. To become a professional tennis player. Thus far in her short career she has shown the desire and potential to take the steps required to ultimately make the professional ranks.

The youngster is the current Mallorca & Balearic Champion and will represent Spain at the World Under-10 tournament in Croatia in June 2017.

Sofia has joined PledgeSports in a bid to further her development as a player. With the public’s support, she will be able to travel through Europe, honing her game as she goes.

2017 is a huge year for Sofia and you can be the difference in her young career. Your contributions will take her across the continent to different tournaments where she can up her game and continue her progress toward the professional game.
