NFL 2019/20 so far and Play Off Predictions

We’re now in week 13 and it’s been a brilliant but somewhat predictable NFL season so far.  The 2019/20 season kicked of on 5th September and with the regular season running into December.

The season finale will be the Super Bowl Super LIV, the 54th Super Bowl and the 50th modern-era National Football League.  It will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe Stadium in Miami Garden in 2nd Feb 2020.

Will it be the New England Patriots in yet again another Super Bowl?  It’s looking like it so far,

Standings – American Football Conference

AFC East

In the AFC Eastern Division it’s no surprise that the 6 time Super Bowl winners, and most successful NFL team of all time The New England Patriots lead.  The have the joint best win loss record so far this season with San Francisco 49ers, both teams have just lost one game out of 11 so far. The Buffalo Bills are second in the the AFC division with 8 wins from 11 games.   The Jets and Dolphins trailing well behind in the AFC East.

AFC North

The Baltimore Ravens are the distant leader here with 9 wins from 11 games so far.  The Steelers are a distant second.  With no wins so far at all, the Cincinnati Bengals can pretty much rule out any play off hopes.  They are the only team in the NFL no to win a game so far this season!

Superbowl winners from 1997-2019

AFC South

This division is the closest in the American Football Conference with little separating the 4 teams.  The Houston Texans lead with the Indianapolis Colts are one game behind while the Jaguars are last.

AFC West

The Chiefs (7 wins so far) and Oakland Raiders look like the playoff hopefuls for the AFC West.

Nation Football Conference

NFC East

It’s the Dallas Cowboys, the most valuable sports team on the planet, still narrowly leading this division. The Philly Eagles are close behind and both teams have little to worry about from the either the Giants or Redskins who have only won 2 games each so far this season.

NFC North

The nine time 9 pre Super Bowl Championship winners, Green Bay Packers who are joint leaders of the group with 8 wins from 10 games.  The Bears and Lions are too far behind to hold any homes of the playoffs.

NFC South

The New Orleans Saints have had an brilliant year so far are almost sure of a place in the playoffs with 9 wins now.  The Falcons, Buccaneers and Panthers are trailing by a big margin.

NFC West

The 49ers top the NFL standings alongside the Patriots.  The SeaHawks are close behind but last years Super Bowl surprise, the LA Rams, have had a slow start to 2019 failing to capitalise on last years success, they have only won 6 from 11 games so far which give them little hope of making the payoffs.

Play Off Predictions

Our favourite time of year!  This is where the NFL season gets real exciting.

The NFL Playoffs are made up of a total of 12 teams – 6 teams from the AFC and 6 Teams from the NFC. There are four divisions in each conference, the winner of each division will automatically qualify for the playoffs.  The two highest seeded teams from each conference get byes. Which means at the moment the Patriots and 49er should get their byes.

The 10 highest paid NFL stars

The two best teams, by record, in each conference that do not win their divisions, also make the playoffs as wild card teams.  That leaves either the Texans Bills, Steelers, Seahawks or Vikings.

Still in with a fighting chance are last years runners up the LA Rams who we predict could come good yet, but time is running out fast.  In AFC it’s the Raiders who have the best chance of making it.

The season is not over yet, and theres lots up for grabs, stay tuned for more..
