Support

Hello, and welcome to my Pledge Sports page!

You may remember me as I crowdfunded 12 months ago which was very successful, and allowed me to fulfill my dream of training full time. Off the back of all your generosity, I have decided to crowdfund again as I need all the support I can get to achieve my goal.

So what has happened in the past 12 months? Well, I had a great 6 months training full time in Bath, where I relocated to be centralised within the British Skeleton programme. October soon approached and we went off to Lillehammer for pre season/selection race. I was selected onto the Europa Cup team to compete in 4 races (2 races in Lillehammer, Norway and 2 races in Winterberg, Germany). This was my first international racing experience, and I finished the 4 races with 1 bronze, 2 x 4th place and 14th place to my name! The rest of season was spent travelling Europe training at different tracks to gain more experience sliding.

I am hoping to raise £3000 and this will help contribute towards living costs over the summer, where I will be based in Bath training as a full-time athlete, and also equipment costs such as a pair of runners and a new helmet. Any amount, small or large, will contribute massively and I am greatly appreciative.

About Me

I am 24 years old, and training as a full-time skeleton athlete in Bath working towards the Beijing Olympics Games 2022.

I applied to a talent ID programme called Power2Podium back in 2014 after the success of Lizzy Yarnold, at the Sochi Winter Olympics. At the time, I was still competing in track and field as a 200 m sprinter, whilst also studying for my undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science. The talent ID scheme lasted from April till November and consisted of 4 phases which I was successful throughout. Unfortunately, during the final selection in Norway I was sent home with my hand in a cast. However I was given the opportunity to go back to ice a year later, and early 2016 I was selected into the talent programme.

The Dream

Great Britain is renowned for producing medallists in Skeleton at the Olympic Games – we have won a medal at every games since 2002. We had the greatest Olympic success this year (2018) as Lizzy retained her gold, and Laura and Dom both achieving bronze! This motivates me to continue the success at the next Games. The programme I am in has produced these champions so I know that I have the best coaches and support staff around me. With my passion, drive and hardworking mentality, I believe that I will achieve my goal.

The money that is contributed will go towards UK travel, rent, bills, food and equipment needed for training.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page, and I hope you can support me on my road to Beijing 2022.

If anyone would like to personally sponsor my helmet/sled for the upcoming season, please do not hesitate to email me [email protected] to discuss further : )
