We are the Cuala Senior Hurling Team, based in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

Your pledge will support our efforts to contest for the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship 2015.

Our goal is to raise €5,000 and we need your help!

Our preparations started in the cold depths of winter, when the squad began a rigorous gym and fitness regime. The program was designed to bring the team to the physical standard required to compete with the top teams in the county. We progressed to grass field hurling training in late March, in preparation for the challenge facing us in May.

The Championship campaign began in early May. We were drawn to face Ballinteer St. Johns, Lucan Sarsfields and Faughs in a fiercely competitive group.

After three tough group games, we faced Croabh Chiaráin in the Quarter Final of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship 2015. Luckily, we came through on a scoreline of 4-16 to 1-11.

Were drawn to face the great Ballyboden St. Endas in the Semi-Final of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship 2015. After a great contest, we came through on a scoreline of 0-27 to 1-21.

At the end of October, we face either Lucan Sarsfields or St. Judes in the decider of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship 2015.

Our typical summer training week consists of:

• Monday – Individual Gym Session
• Tuesday – Collective Hurling Session
• Wednesday – Recovery
• Thursday – Collective Gym Session
• Friday – Recovery
• Saturday – Collective Light Hurling Session / Recovery
• Sunday – Collective Hurling Session / Game

As you can appreciate, running a group of 30+ players and management has necessary associated costs.

Our running costs are split between:

• Facilities Rent (Pitches / Gym)
• Coaching
• Equipment
• Transport

We estimate, over a full hurling season, a €1,000 cost per player.
