Tennis Ireland is the official governing body for tennis in the whole of Ireland

Our junior players excelled in 2014 and have begun 2015 with a bang, competing at the Australian Open qualifiers as part of a strong team of Irish players, led by seniors James McGee and Louk Sorenson.

Dublin’s BNP Pariba’s National Academy is now brimful of talented juniors with live hopes of making it to the main ATP/WTF tours and even Grand Slams, but to achieve this these players need to compete regularly at an international level in order to gain experience and build ranking points.

Our performance director Garry Cahill has belief in these players and their potential to represent Ireland regularly at Wimbledon and other Grand Slams in the near future, however they need help to get there.

Why we are fundraising

We are setting up this project to raise money for our elite juniors, give them the best chance possible of  making it on to the main ATP/WTA Tours in the near future.

CDuffyNiblockFor these juniors to make it to the elite senior level they need to be able to travel around the world to competitions, and this gets very expensive.  If they can’t travel with a coach their chances of improving with their international peers, building valuable ranking points and getting major competition experience greatly diminishes.

Where your investment will go

We will use the money raised here to send coaches to international competitions with these elite players. This gives them a much better chance of succeeding and breaking through the ranks.

We all want to see some Irish players making the Grand Slams; for too long now we have sat back and watched Swiss, American, Czech and British players dominating.  This is our chance to change this and bring proper tennis success to Ireland, some of these elite Juniors could easily be in the top 100 in the next few years and our own Bjorn Thomson with an ITF ranking of 83 in the world, made the Australian Open qualifiers last week.

Imagine watching our young stars playing at Wimbledon or in the US, French or Australian opens!  With your support this is very possible.

Please help build Tennis Ireland’s future.
