In October 2015 a group of 29 Swimmers from Epping Forest District Swimming Club spent their Half Term break in Calella, Spain for a week of tough training and team building. Far from being a holiday, they took part in an intense training program that has helped not only in improving their swimming skills and endurance, but also assisted in building confidence, new friendships and promoting a strong team bond.

In view of last year’s success, a similar trip is being planned for October 2016 at the BEST Centre, Mallorca. This venue is founded and run by former Olympic swimmers and regularly hosts Swim Camps at Club, National and International levels. Being a first class swim training facility it represents a fantastic opportunity for our young competitive swimmers.

The age range of these swimmers is 11-18, with the majority 12-13. Typically they train up to 5 times per week throughout the year, in addition to Competitions on up to 20 weekends. They are tremendously driven and dedicated young athletes.

We are actively planning fundraising events, and will use all proceeds from this PledgeSports Campaign to assist swimmers with the cost of attending Swim Camp.
