I am an 18 year old competitive weightlifter competing in the under 48kg weight class. I am on the GB Regional development squad, a squad that aims to produce elite international level athletes with the ultimate aim being the 2020 Olympics.
To aid my training I need a good quality weightlifting bar but this comes at a cost of £823.20. I am currently starting out as a personal trainer and do not have the finances to purchase it.
My parents have always helped me pay for my training but times are hard financially and they can no longer afford to do this. A good quality bar will really help and allow me to get used to the bars I use in competition.
In July I qualified for Regionals, which will be held in October, needing a 90kg total and finishing on 94kg, easily qualifying and achieving 3rd place. I then went on to win my next competition in August, reaching a 102kg total.
My next competition will be Regionals in October, and it would be amazing to have my own bar by then as this is an important competition. Next year I hope to compete at English and British Championships.
Thank you so much to my first supporter Russ Lubin!
Any donations no matter how big or small would be much appreciated. Thank you 🙂
