Hi, my name is Russell White.
I am a 22 year old Triathlete from Northern Ireland. Â I have only been doing Triathlon since 2010 after coming from a swimming background; but my progression through the sport has been exponential. Â In this short period I have represented Ireland at 2 Junior European Championships, 1 World Junior Championships, 1 U23 European Championships and 1 U23 World Championships. I also competed in the World University Championships in 2012 where I finished 12th.
The 2014 season has seen my greatest progression. I made the decision to take a year out of University to concentrate on Triathlon full time. This has paid off with my 1st season uninterrupted by injury and  the ability attend warm weather training camps during the winter.
Already this season I have competed in Portugal, China and Japan. In China I came 25th in a World Cup amongst some of the best Triathletes in the World. In Japan I made my World Triathlon Series debut. The World Triathlon Series is the highest level of Triathlon racing in the World and which ultimately decides the World Champion.
My biggest achievement to date is being selected to represent Northern Ireland for Triathlon at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where I aim to finish in the top 10. The Commonwealth Games could be considered the next biggest multi-sporting event after the Olympics.
This season I will be competing in my 1st Senior European Championships, the Commonwealth Games, multiple European and World Cups and finishing my season at the World U23 Championships in Edmonton Canada. The majority of these events will be televised and will be great exposure for company logos on my race suit (see Rewards). For example, the Yokohama World Triathlon Series event which I raced in earlier in the year, was transmitted live to an international TV audience of more than 160 countries, as well as streamed online.
I have been travelling the world racing and training through the help of my parents and my student loan. I therefore ask for your contribution so that I can continue on my upward spiral to receive funding and become one of the Worlds best Triathletes.
A donation of any size is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in on my journey to success!
