Support

Ireland has never had an Over 35s mens team in the World Cup – we pledge to give our full commitment to represent Ireland to over very best at the next World Cup Hockey Tournament taking place in Nottingham, England in August 2020.

However, we need your help to make our dream  come true. As fellow sportsmen and sportswomen and supporters you are aware that getting to any tournament not only requires commitment and dedication but financial support too.

We, Irish Over 35s Hockey Team are seeking your support to help fund our #RoadToTheWorldCup2020

We are a group of elite Hockey Players, from Leinster, Munster and Ulster forming the Ireland team. While it’s an incredible honor to be selected, currently there is no funding available for Ireland Masters teams and each player has to fund a huge amount they have to purchase their playing & social kits, pay for all travel & accommodation & tournament registration costs – not to mention the additional costs of travel to and attending pre tournament  training sessions and matches etc.

We as a squad stand shoulder to shoulder and represent a very committed and talented group of Hockey Players in Ireland at O35s age group. Our team includes representatives who have won many accolades in national and provincial competitions.

In order to ensure we can continue to play a part in this amazing journey we are seeking assistance from you hich would help with the financial pressure from the team and coaching staff.  The overall target for our fundraising appeal is €50,000, we don’t just want to participate in the World Cup we want to win it!!!

Why would you want to support the Irish Over 35s Mens Hockey team ? Here are a just a few…

Bronze Medal Winners at First ever European Cup 2019

Delighted to have taken home the bronze medal at the European cup this year - this was the first time Ireland has had a team at this level and we did really well. We came second in our pool with Germany topping it on goal difference. We beat Denmark and Wales in the pool games and had a 3-3 draw with Germany. We played England in the semi-final and lost 6-3 but it was really 4-3 as they got 2 more goals when we didn't have a keeper on the pitch choosing to play with 11 outfield as we needed to push on and attack. The 3rd/4th place playoff with Scotland was a good game which we won 2-1.
