My name Preston and I am from Belfast in Northern Ireland. I have been training in A Tennis Academy in France for 2 years, having spent 1 year prior to that in Saddlebrook Tennis Academy in Florida.
I have just turned 14 and I am now ready to take my next generation of Tennis to the next level and play ITF Tournaments all over the world to get myself a world Tennis ranking. I would also like to get involved in playing Futures.
Starting Out
I started Tennis at age 11 so I was a late starter. As soon as I picked up a racket I was told I had a natural talent for Tennis by several coaches in Belfast.
My Mom and Dad decided to see how talented I really was and they sent me to America to train for one year in Saddlebrook Tennis Academy, a home hitting ground of Andy Roddick and John Isner.
Because I went overseas straight away I never got to play for Ireland and do not have an Irish Tennis Ranking, like most other kids using PledgeSports.org to raise money for tennis sponsorship.
I may not hold any Irish rankings but I have trained hard to get the best technique to bring out my best Tennis . I have done all the hard work on getting the correct strokes I now need to show the world what I have, and what I have been training hard for.
To France
I was playing tournaments in America and playing catch up with a lot of kids who had perhaps 7 years more experience ahead of me playing tournaments.
I did get myself a good ranking in Juniors in Florida but I could not play the best Tournaments there as I was not American born, so to push my skill further My parents sent me to A Tennis Academy in France where I have been now for two years.
I focused more here on getting the technique I needed to allow me to play ITF tournaments when the time came.
Now my training consists of
- 8.45am warm up
- 9am-11am Tennis Drills
- 11am-12 noon fitness
- 2pm-4pm Tennis (2 hours of match play)
- 4pm-5pm Fitness
- 5.30pm -6pm stretching
Where you come in
The time has now come for what I have been training for. I am ready technically and mentally to play and win at ITF tournaments. I need to get into these Tournaments in order for me to gain the experience I need to start to play in Grand Slam Tournaments and become the world No 1 that I know I am destined to be.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope you deem me worthy enough to pledge to. Any support that I can get will go towards my airfares to these Tournaments.
