Please help to fuel my motorsport dream for 2022
What was your dream job when you were young? Astronaut? Footballer? Rock star? My name is Pete Woodward and from the moment I watched Nigel Mansell win the F1 championship on my 9th birthday, I dreamed of being a racing driver. I am based in Sussex, in the UK, and even though I am now in my late 30s and unlikely to worry Lewis Hamilton, I am aiming to get on track and bring my racing dream to life in 2022.
I passed my racing driver licence in 2021 and I have some exciting options to pursue my dream. I am asking for help to get on track in 2022. I have been offered the opportunity to get behind the wheel in one race in the EnduroKa series: the IndyKa 500. This is the grassroots level of the sport and involves racing in a team or three or four in a Ford Ka on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch for 500 minutes. The race is in November 2022 and, finishing in the dark, brings the spirit of Le Mans to Kent in budget car form. As an established freelance journalist and with an existing track record of working with schools to inspire the next generation, I have some unique opportunities to offer – please see the benefits available.
Please join me on this exciting journey to the start line in 2022.
