Why we need you
Handball is a very popular and developed sport in the whole of Europe and a fast growing sport in the UK, but with limited funding. Despite our great commitment to the sport and strong performance at national and international level, we require your financial support to share our passion with our growing junior players and our community. As a club we are committed to growing the sport in the UK, and this can only be done by investing in the next generation! Our Juniors constantly amaze us. They are a happy, fast improving bunch of young athletes and make give us pride on and off the pitch. They are our future.
Here are our main costs:
– League, tournaments and other competitions entry fees.
– Hall booking for trainings and games
– Payments to referrees
– Kits and other equipment (balls, cones, strips, hand resin grip, etc)
To control these costs, we are very lucky to have coaches working as volunteers, for the love of the sport and of the club. Our payers pay a registration fee, and a monthly fee. They also cover their own travel to away games, which can be all over the country. Olympia is a club made of passion. Help us guarantee a future in handball for these kids!
Who we are
Olympia is a London based Premier League handball club. It all started in 2005 as a multi-national team and we remain one of the most diverse handball clubs in the UK, now boasting members from more than 23 different countries.
In addition to providing an opportunity for everyone to play handball, Olympia has four senior teams, participating in England Handball Association (EHA) leagues and cup competitions at different levels. Both our women and men’s first teams compete in the Premier League (Top Tier) contested between the best teams in England. Olympia’s second teams participate in the Regional League (second tier) for men and women. The club also takes part in domestic handball cup competitions, as well as international tournaments such as the European Challenge Cup, EHF Cup, British Beach Handball, Liverpool Handball Festival, and several other friendly tournaments around Europe.
Our Junior development programme is for ever growing. Some of our kids already play adult games and they are not short of talent. Our kids are our future.
