I am a 27 year old Pole Vaulter pursuing my dream of competing at the Olympics in Rio next year.
I have a personal best of 5.62 metres (a London double decker bus is 4.47m high) and I need 5.70m to qualify! 8cm is all I need and I know in my heart that I am more than capable of this standard of vaulting – I actually have my heart set on beating the British record of 5.82m.
I support my Pole Vault training through sports massage therapy in Lancashire and I have set up my own company to enable me to manage clients around my training.
I work, train, eat and sleep with every minute of every day visualizing myself making the team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
My sports crowdfunding project on PledgeSports.org is to help with the cost of purchasing new poles.
Each vaulting pole costs £600 and I have saved my own money or used the full amount received from various grants to help with the cost of these so far.
I am also looking for help to cover my rental costs, so that I have more money to spend on higher quality nutrition, which is essential to my recovery between training sessions.
I am focused and self driven to achieve the most I can in this sport and represent Great Britain at major champs to the best of my ability.
Can you help to support one of this great country’s sporting representatives?! Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Max
