My name is Soumeya Anane and I am a professional Tennis player currently ranked top 677 WTA. My dream is to make it to the top 100 and play in the grand slams.

I first picked up a racket at 8 years old and became obsessed with improving my skills and game. I also played football to a high level and represented both Coventry and Birmgham City Centre of Excellence until I was 16 at which point I chose to pursue tennis to a higher level. At 18 I was not ready to become a professional tennis so I accepted a full tennis scholarship to the Universith of North Carolina at Greensboro where I took advantage of the coaching and facilities in order to inprove my game and obtain my English degree.

I have now graduated and am now playing tennis full time and am striving to reach the top. As some of you know, playing the tennis circuit is expensive but through careful planning and managing my costs, I have manage to have success at an international level. Just recently I won two 15,000 tournaments in Hungary and Romania with two different doubles partners. I am now looking to take this success further and give myself the best chance to jump up the rankings by playing bigger tournaments further afield. This will allow me to improve my game and play at a higher level and help me reach my goal of getting to the top.

In order to play in Australia I am looking to raise £1000 in order to fund my flights and basic accommodation during the tournament dates.
