I was born with cerebral palsy, but I have never let that stop me from doing what I want to do. I started in sport when I was 11 years old by playing wheelchair basketball. I moved into athletics when I was 16, and although I live in Lincolnshire I travel to Loughborough twice a week to train. My first major competition was the World Championships in New Zealand. I became a Junior World Champion in the same year in 2011. I was very proud to be selected to represent my country at London 2012 Paralympics. I won a silver medal at Swansea in 2014 for discus.
I had to change sport after the London Olympics as there was no discus in Rio, so I took up shot put, and now I’m proud to say that I have once again been selected and I’m on the Road to Rio.
