Hi,
My name is Justice Hall and tennis has been a part of my life from the age of 6 when I was spotted playing tennis at school by a local club coach. That was 5 years ago and since then I have made rapid progress along the performance pathway.
I was recently selected to attend my third National Player Camp at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton. Just 16 girls from around the country were selected by the Lawn Tennis Association Talent Team for a 5 day residential.
My training
I’m an under 12 player and train at Ipswich Sports Club 15 hours a week. This includes 2 individual sessions with my coach Chris Daynes, 4 group squads and 2 strength and conditioning sessions. An average training day for me consists of:
- 7.00 – 7.45 flexibility/core strength/mobility
- 14.00 – 15.00 individualised on court training
- 16.00 – 17.30 tactical match play on court
- 17.30-18.15 strength and conditioning
- 18.15 – 19.00 cool down/injury prevention
Within the next 6 months I will begin a full-time tennis programme of 25 hours coaching a week. I will also begin my international tennis programme and start playing in Tennis Europe events.
My Performance
The highlights of my career so far have been my 3rd place finish at the National Finals last year. More recently I entered an under 14 event and won my second title of the season against girls 3 years older than me.
I won’t let you down
In 2016 I need to compete in 35 tournaments in the UK and abroad in order to get to the next level and achieve a year end singles ranking of top 3 for under 12 and top 50 for under 14.
My biggest challenge for 2016 will be funding my full time programme. The average cost of travel, accommodation and food is £400 per tournament.
My parents fully support my tennis future and have made sacrifices to ensure I’ve been able to develop my talent. I will continue to rely heavily on their support and I’m extremely grateful.
I’m passionate about my tennis and constantly want to improve my game. I always give 100% and would love to play in the Grand Slam tennis events in the future.
I know if I keep working hard and taking my opportunities then I’ll get to where I want to be.
Thanks for taking the time to read my campaign,
Justice
