Meet the CCI Africa Team

Their dream is to earn the opportunity to further their education in the USA using their soccer talent to open the door. They are a group of 21 incredibly talented and academically disciplined boys, coming from Zimbabwe, South Africa, DRC and Ghana.

How They Were Discovered

The boys were selected as part of the 2018 Africa Showcase series out of 300 eligible students-athletes across Southern Africa to be a part of the 2018 CCI Africa Team, which is an amazing accomplishment. Unlike most other companies, we did not select players based on their ability to pay the costs associated with such a tour, but instead, focused on learning about the students’ backgrounds, academically as well as watching their conduct on and off the pitch throughout the series. We are proud to state that from the 2017 Tour Team (8 boys), 6 boys are college-bound in 2018 to the USA, with the other 2 are on a similar track, pending their completion of high school.

The Opportunity

The CCI Africa Team will have the privilege and opportunity to play in front of almost 100 college and academy soccer coaches, visit college campuses and learn about US culture and history over the course of the trip. They will also participate in educational seminars designed to improve their understanding of a US college education, the recruiting process as well as receiving valuable insights into life as a college soccer player.

Our Appeal

As impressive as these boys have been on and off the field, nothing rivals their dream to further their education in the USA using soccer in the unparalleled structure of the US Collegiate Sports system. Unfortunately, some of the student-athletes have limited financial support for such a tour to the USA, but we feel there’s no reason why they should be denied an opportunity that will change their lives for the better. It’s an opportunity that will open doors not just for them, but for those coming behind them that also look up to them!

So we are appealing to all interested and willing individuals or companies, to rally around these young men and help seal this next chapter of their journey, by affording them this rare opportunity.
